Whitney + Yip | Downtown Champaign + Cherry Blossoms wedding portraits

As I wrote on social media the day after the session, I was soooo happy throughout this whole session! Whitney + Yip got married at the Champaign County Courthouse recently, but instead of hiring me for the ceremony there, opted to do a 2-hour portrait session beforehand. They even had their families meet us at the Japan House for group photos before heading to downtown Urbana.

Yip + Whitney met at C-Street bar before it closed about 5 years ago. The building is no longer there, but we started the session at the block where it used to be and got some photos with the cute storefronts there and the Chester Street sign.

The second part of the session was in another part of downtown Champaign, near Quality Bar which they now frequent, and by Hamilton Walker’s. We then headed over to the Japan House area where the cherry blossoms were still in bloom but quickly losing their petals. It was so beautiful though and looked like snow falling! (Be sure to check out the video at the bottom of the post to see the petals in action!)

I had the BEST morning with these two and am so happy for them to start their new life together. Congrats & best wishes! 🌈
