Kristen + Sam | Sunset wedding on the pier in South Haven, Michigan

Kristen + Sam were the lucky couple that was able to snag the ever-popular 10-10-20 wedding date from me more than a year ago. As COVID took over the world, they tried their hardest to keep everything as normal as possible for their wedding day in Urbana.

But ultimately they decided that the best and most logical move for them would be to instead hold the wedding in Michigan near one of their favorite vacation spots. They asked if I would make the trek up there as well, and after talking it over with my husband, we decided to make a family weekend of it!

So Friday after school we packed up the car and headed north to South Haven, Michigan, and immediately fell in love with this quaint little lake resort town. We arrived after dark so couldn’t see too much at first but could already tell that the little Phoenix Street that led to the pier was adorable!

The next morning we headed about 25 minutes further north to Crane’s Orchard for a corn maze and some apple cider and donuts! We had a fun family day with perfect weather! Then we headed back to South Haven for Kristen + Sam’s wedding about 90 minutes before sunset.

Following their ceremony, the couple and I went down to the beach area to take advantage of the golden hour light and the beautiful sunset. It was an awesome evening, and I am so glad Kristen + Sam asked me to be there to document it! Congrats, to the happy couple!!
