Julia + Patrick | Japan House + Arboretum engagement session

Julia + Patrick’s engagement session fell on one of the most perfect fall days, where the color was at its peak! It wasn’t overall too cold outside, though I felt for Julia with her short skirt and sleeveless dress outfits. The deep red-leaved trees at the UI Arboretum were definitely showing off that day and I couldn’t pass them by without an epic portrait in front!

After hitting up the courthouse/parking garage area in downtown Urbana, we headed to the Japan House area for the majority of the session. I always love dropping a fun fact about the gazebo there on my clients — did you know that it was built by Nick Offerman from Parks & Rec and Making It? It is a beautiful piece that is worth the trip to check out!

While the day was mostly overcast, we were pleasantly surprised by a little kiss of sunlight on the horizon at the very end of their session. It looked positively gorgeous around the Japan House and pond with all the colorful leaves. Beautiful!
