Falonn + Matt | Champaign iHotel wedding | Midwestern spring wedding
I had the privilege of second shooting Falonn + Matt's wedding in March with my good friend Rebekah Albaugh. It's nice to be the assistant photographer from time to time for several reasons, but mostly because I get to work alongside friends and mentors and watch them work. It's also a nice sort of "break" from the responsibilities of being the primary photographer. As always, Rebekah did an amazing job with this couple and I thoroughly enjoyed going through their entire gallery. For Falonn + Matt's wedding, I met up with the guys first who were already enjoying a relaxed lunch and some brews at the Esquire in Champaign. From there we went to the church for a few portraits and the lovely heartfelt ceremony. After the ceremony, we headed back downtown with the whole wedding party for some group shots, candids, and portraits of the newly married couple. Barrelhouse 34 made for the perfect backdrop, both indoors with its warm wood and bulb lights, and outdoors with it's upstairs rooftop patio. It was a little chilly that day though so we tried to keep everyone out of the elements as much as possible!
Then it was back to the iHotel for the beautiful reception space surrounded by warm amber uplighting. I don't have photos of it because it was after I left, but I hear that Falonn changed into a party dress toward the end of the evening!
