Macy Tester is a hair stylist and makeup artist in Champaign. If you have done a brand or boudoir session in the past couple of years, chances are Macy did your makeup and/or hair!

She’s been a stylist for 12 years, and works at Loft Beauty Co on Neil St. in Champaign. Though she’s a Champaign native, she currently resides in Mahomet with her husband Tyler and their toddler Elsie.

In addition to her work in the salon, she also is a Wella professionals educator and travels all over the country teaching other stylists. She attends training a couple of times a year, and her favorite places Wella has sent her are Calabasas, CA & Atlantic City, NJ. Her original training was at Paul Mitchell hair school in Bloomington, IL.

Her favorite thing to do in her job is hair & makeup for photo shoots and bridal parties! She currently has 14 weddings on her books for 2023!

I asked Macy if she could style any celebrity, who would it be, and her answer was Blake Lively! Strong choice! Can I please be there so I can meet Ryan Reynolds?!

I also asked her about some of her big goals & dreams, and her dream vacation would be to Thailand due to the vast differences in culture, but also the tropical/beachy vibe of the country.

Her ultimate goal would be to work at New York Fashion Week, and she said if she achieved that goal, she could retire happy! I love that — putting it out into the universe! Dream big!!

Macy says her brand is real life, simple basics & neutrals, and as she says, “the real me.” I can attest that Macy is a straight shooter and keeps it real every day.
