We are slowly but surely building a Smith family Valentine’s Day tradition! This year was YEAR 10 (outside of one Valentine’s day when we were on the road to Ohio and couldn’t go)! My husband Aaron has always thought Valentine’s Day was a made-up Hallmark holiday and didn’t want to celebrate it. So one year we decided to go to Menards instead, and then the idea stuck and we have gone every year since. The kids are on board with it now too and most of our friends & family & Facebook people know about our tradition, so much so that people ask us about it and wait for our update every year!

This year we had school cancelled for the day, so we were able to leave a bit earlier than we normally would, and then grabbed a quick dinner across the street at McAlister’s (free kids’ meals on V-day!). Anyway, we had a fun time as a family, and got a few things we needed to boot! We hope to keep the tradition going for many more years to come!!
