Sheena + Chris | Party of 2 at the Urbana courthouse

Well, dear blog readers, this one was a first for me! You all know I have photographed dozens of weddings at the Champaign County Courthouse, but this was my first time ever signing the marriage license for two strangers!

Like many of my courthouse clients, Sheena + Chris opted to elope with just the two of them. So it was a cozy gathering of the judge, the bailiff, and me. It is not required in Champaign County that someone sign as a witness, but the judge and the couple asked if I would sign it, so I did!

It truly is an honor to be asked to photograph such intimate and important moments in people’s lives, and I never take it for granted. Big or small, all weddings are huge commitments between two people, and every single one is special.
