Darbie + Adam | Patriotic engagement session | Lincoln, Illinois
Darbie contacted me a couple weeks ago wanting to do an engagement session with her new fiance, Adam. Adam will be stationed out of state soon and she wanted to do the session before he leaves. It was super fitting that we scheduled the session on the morning of Veteran's Day, in Adam's hometown of Lincoln, IL, which ironically isn't too far from my hometown either! We started the session just outside of the Lincoln Grand 8 theater which has an adorable script marquee out front. Adam wore his dress blues and Darbie wore a red dress she purchased online and had tailored by a co-worker. They looked so sweet together! It was extra fun too (and humbling!) walking around the square in Lincoln and having people stop Adam to thank him for his service. After a quick outfit change, Adam got into his camouflage duds and we hit up the historic painted Lincoln sign. Then they both changed into casual fall outfits in a nice gray/navy combo and we finished up at the Postville Courthouse, a replication of the building and site where Abraham Lincoln practiced law. I love that Darbie brought along a patriotic red, white and blue blanket to sit on and wrap around them as it made for a perfect prop with the scenery! Congrats, Darbie + Adam!!
