Neena + Justin | Pear Tree Estate Indian + Hindu wedding
Wow! My first Indian wedding was so amazing and gorgeous, and I thoroughly enjoyed being immersed in the cultural festivities for the day! Just watching Neena get adorned with all her jewelry was an event in itself too! Justin + Neena pulled the red and gold theme together beautifully with their mandap (the covered structure for the ceremony), the flowers and Neena's custom handmade gown from India. On Friday evening, I also attended their mehndi ceremony and henna party where most of the guests got some henna done and Neena had both her hands and feet decorated. Following the ceremony, we did a few portraits with the couple, their families and Neena's bridesmaids, and then Neena + Justin both changed into other outfits -- Justin into a suit and Neena into a white and gold beaded sari gown. Some of my favorite parts of the day were watching all the ladies get their saris pinned on, the authentic rituals of the Hindu wedding ceremony, Neena's second gown, and the way that Justin looked at Neena all day long! I loved how ornate this wedding was, and I've always wanted to shoot a colorful Indian wedding. I look forward to photographing another one someday!
