Meryl + Scott married at St. John's Catholic Chapel in the heart of the University of Illinois campus. They chose a great purple color that they carried throughout all the details of the wedding that made for a beautiful wedding and reception. I LOVED Meryl's cathedral length, mantilla-style veil. It framed her beautiful face so well. Pair that with her stunning eyes and a great spot of light we found just outside the church, and you have one of my new all-time favorite bridal portraits! Scott cleans up well himself, and we got a striking portrait of him near that same spot as well. My last task of the evening was to photograph their choreographed (and very practiced, I imagine!) first dance as husband and wife. Meryl + Scott gracefully floated all of the dance floor, and I have to give credit to a guest who had his Nikon speedlight set to slave and gave me a nice burst of extra light throughout that dance. :) Here are some of my favorites!
