I've discovered in 2017 that my brand and photography is full of COLOR, so when I walk into Meredith + Scott's outdoor tent reception at the Champaign Country Club, I was in complete awe! They had chosen a color palette of orange, yellow, pink & teal and executed ever detail to its fullest. I think it's fitting that my first official post on my new website be this vibrant and full of color!

I've only known Meredith + Scott for about a year since they hired me, but I feel like we've been friends for much longer. When Meredith first put on her gown, I told her she looked like Belle from Beauty and the Beast and she asked if I already knew that was her favorite Disney character. I had no idea, but it was so fun to make that connection! The couple chose not to see each other before their ceremony, but we scoped out a neat little corner in the church for them to hold hands and pray beforehand. Scott didn't want to let go of her hand! It was such a sweet moment. I mentioned during their engagement session post that Meredith has an infectious laugh, and I feel like you can imagine her laugh through some of these photos -- I adore her personality, and you can tell why she is so loved as a youth minister.

This reception was the kind I dream about -- and outdoor tented reception on a country club golf course with loads of color. There was no detail they hadn't thought of, including having the dance floor tented as well in case of inclement weather (because, Illinois). The paper lanterns, ribbons, and florals everywhere tied it all together so nicely. The use of color reminded me of Moroccan and Indian inspired weddings, and definitely fits this couple's personality to a T. Uplighting around the tent and surrounding trees made the whole affair feel like a magical, enchanted garden, and I was having the best time photographing every angle. The fireworks show was a surprise to the bride and groom, and we capped off the night with a sparkler exit too. I am so thrilled to share this wedding with you! Congrats, Meredith + Scott!
