Mekenzie + Roy : UI Arboretum + Refinery wedding: Champaign
Mekenzie + Roy planned a beautiful outdoor wedding at the U of I Arboretum Hartley Gardens on Labor Day weekend. They also had a couple fun photo locations up their sleeves -- we made stops at both the Chief Crossfit gym and Jarling's Custard Cup (do those cancel each other out?) :) Roy had the good folks at Jarling's come up with a special just for their wedding day -- if you visited Sunday, you might have noticed the Peanut Butter Fudge snowstorm was $.50! Mekenzie and her sister lost their mother recently, and they chose wonderful ways to incorporate her into the ceremony. Their grandfather carried a photo of her down the aisle, Mekenzie wore her mother's wedding dress, and Roy talked about her during his vows. And speaking of vows, Roy's were very touching, leaving few dry eyes in the audience. One of the best parts of the night though, was when Mekenzie did a rap she had written for Roy. She shared before starting that Roy is a fan of the "big gesture," so that was her gift to him. It was awesome!
