MaKayla + Jeremy : Champaign Church of Christ + iHotel wedding
MaKayla + Jeremy had a beautiful late fall wedding at the Champaign Church of Christ, followed by a reception at the iHotel. I always love a purple theme, and this one was no exception, and really added pops of color when we needed it for the outdoor (and even some of the indoor!) images. Highlights of the day included MaKayla's upbeat attitude when one of the eyelets came off her dress and she had to be sewn in, the band Walt Flanagan reuniting to play together again, being in FRONT of the bride and groom during the First Kiss, being denied access for photos to a certain campus bar, and some SWEET off-camera flash work around dusk. (Thanks to my assistant for the day, Colleen, for her help with that.) I'll never forget MaKayla's first email to me when she told me she was marrying Jeremy, with a "Mr." in front of his name. You see, I knew Jeremy in college, and I don't recall anyone ever referring to him as "Mr." Ha! But I can safely say now that he fits the bill perfectly, and he and MaKayla are so great together. I also knew 4 of the 5 groomsmen from our college days, and my frequent visits to their fraternity. Enter: Walt Flanagan. I had heard them play a few times years ago, and was excited to hear them play at the wedding. Fun times!
