I wrapped up my 2018 wedding season with Lanae + Chris’s beautiful, rustic fall wedding. Lanae chose the colors of navy and wine to coordinate throughout her wedding details, and it all came together wonderfully. Her family has an area of pasture that we used for portraits, and we couldn’t have timed the fall colors better — all of the trees blended into the best combination of autumn tones imaginable. The pasture was a perfect setting that tied together Lanae + Chris’s love for agriculture, the fall theme, and gave us a backdrop of rolling hills and tall grasses. Lanae’s dad even left a few rows of corn up for us to use for some photos too — I am so grateful for that! Those are some of my favorite photos, plus we were able to use an ear of corn for some ring photos! <3

Following the First Look and portraits of the couple and their wedding party, we made the 20-minute trek back into Taylorville for the ceremony and reception at The Pillars Event Center. This venue is an old church that owner Lori has restored into a place for weddings and events. No detail has been overlooked in the planning and layout of this place, with nooks and crannies all over the building reserved for getting ready suites with natural light, a balcony, bar area, lounge area, plenty of seating, and room for a separate ceremony and reception. The original stained glass gives it an elegant but traditional touch.

Following the ceremony, Lanae + Chris had some time to kick back and let loose while we cruised on the party bus with their closest friends and siblings. We made a quick stop at one of their favorite hometown bars before returning to the reception. After a delicious dinner, we heard heartfelt toasts from the maid of honor and best man, and then watched the couple share their first dance together as husband and wife. Once the dance floor opened, the new Mr. & Mrs. danced the night away with their guests and had a blast in the photo booth.

It was so fun spending the day on the farm and at the new-to-me Pillars venue. I can’t imagine a better way to end my 2018 wedding season. Congrats, Lanae + Chris!!! <3
