Kristen + Clayton | Champaign Willard Airport wedding
Holly Smith
Kristen + Clayton had probably the most unique wedding I have ever had the privilege of photographing. Every detail was planned perfectly, and encompassed their all-American red, white & blue theme completely. The ceremony and reception were held on the Champaign Willard Airport campus at a private hangar. The food by LA Gourmet kept right in with the theme also, ranging from mini grilled cheese appetizers and chocolate milkshakes, to pulled pork and burger sliders, fried chicken and corn on the cob for dinner. Cupcakes, apple pies and S'mores were served for dessert! I loved that Clayton and most of his groomsmen wore his Air Force uniform, including their party shirts underneath (you'll see those later on!). I loved hanging out with these two and their friends all day, and being a part of such a fabulous wedding! Cheers! The front porch of Kristen's parents' house was a perfect backdrop for many of the bridal details and the First Look! Dad wore his wings! Sweet sassy molassey, I love this one. Kristen had pinned an image like this to her Pinterest wedding ideas board. Clayton's parents have been married 35 years, and Kristen's parents have been married 30. Such a great idea here! Here comes the bride!! Yes, her dad flew her into the ceremony. How awesome is that?! Married! Might as well do a happy dance... ;) We snuck in a little time for some sunset portraits just before they were announced inside the reception. First Dance Seriously, you could not ask for a better backdrop! Another favorite! Grand exit with sparklers! I rarely get to see this, so it was a treat!
