Jordan + Trent | Lake of the Woods Botanical Garden + Hilton Garden Inn | Mahomet + Champaign wedding
Jordan + Trent planned a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony at the Mabery Gelvin botanical garden within the Lake of the Woods forest preserve in Mahomet. The night before I checked the forecast and the outlook wasn't good. But I woke up to mostly sunny skies with just a few chances for rain throughout the day. I was so happy to hear that the plan was to still keep the ceremony outdoors!! While doing portraits around the gardens, we had just a few light sprinkles and then the rain unleashed for a few minutes just as we were getting on the limo to head into Champaign to the Hilton Garden Inn for the reception. Pretty good timing and luck if you ask me! When I first met with Jordan, her mom Joanne, and her matron of honor Nicole a few months ago, they told me about the tennis theme they were planning, and my mind immediately went to the wedding ring shots... my mind was already reeling from all the possibilities. So, needless to say, there are a bunch of ring images included in this blog post -- way more than my usual amount! I was having so much fun photographing them with all the elements that Jordan had ready for me. :) And I felt like I was holding a piece of history when they handed me the baseball that Jordan first used to ask Trent out to Homecoming -- I mean, how adorable is that?! The baseball was followed up with the tennis ball that Trent used to propose to Jordean, and the rest is, of course, history. ;) I'm a huge fan of color, and I loved seeing all the elements brought together with the tennis theme in both the wedding party attire and the reception ballroom. The teal and purple uplights tied everything together so nicely. Congrats, Jordan + Trent!
