Dick's House of Sport Grand Opening

Champaign’s Dick’s Sporting Goods recently reopened as a Dick’s House of Sport, following a major renovation and takeover of the former Field & Stream store adjacent to it.

I was asked to come in and photograph a few hours of the Grand Opening weekend. There were all kinds of deals, activities, free snacks, and tons of square footage to explore! As part of the festivities, a few autograph signings were scheduled, featuring Pierre Thomas, Bonnie Blair, Dee Brown, and Jim Thome. I was able to be there for part of Bonnie Blair & Dee Brown’s signings. I had never met Bonnie before, and have met Dee a few times. It was fun to get to hang out with both of them for a few minutes in the store’s back offices.
