Deborah + Tom | Urbana courthouse wedding

ICYMI, I recently announced that 2023 is my last year doing big weddings. BUT that doesn’t mean courthouse weddings are going away! I will still be doing small elopements and courthouse weddings. So if you know of anyone getting married in Champaign or Piatt counties at one of the courthouses, send them my way! I love a great lunchtime wedding!!

I first met Deborah + Tom last fall for their engagement session. Then almost exactly a year later, we met up at the courthouse for their wedding day. Due to some crazy courthouse scheduling, I actually MISSED their ceremony (ugh!), so we ended up doing portraits and family groups mostly outside following the ceremony. That has never happened before! But let me tell you, it made me really nervous for my wedding there the following Friday (but all was good!).

The Urbana courthouse is north-facing and has beautiful brick and architecture, so it is always a pleasure to photograph there, no matter the time of year. I normally don’t like doing photos midday, but it is never a problem there! Plus downtown Urbana has some great nooks and crannies too that I never run out of ideas!
