Caitlin + Ted | Round Barn Banquet Center wedding
My favorite part of Caitlin + Ted's wedding day had to have been when Caitlin (with the help of a few friends) sang a song for Ted that she wrote. It was totally sweet, and a catchy, upbeat tune that encouraged their guests to sing along once they caught on to the words. I am kicking myself that I didn't also record it with my backup camera that does video. Ted and Caitlin chose to see each other prior to their ceremony in a "First Look." I sometimes get couples asking for my opinion on this non-tradition. As a photographer, I think it is great because it really frees up our time together later in the day, as well as your guests' time. It also alleviates some pressure on the couple if they are nervous about having all eyes on them as the bride first walks down the aisle. I don't personally subscribe to the notion that the couple shouldn't see each other beforehand as it is bad luck, but I will support any of my couples in holding up that tradition.
As is common with ME (ugh!) these days, it rained on their wedding day. Sorry to bring the rain with me, 2012 clients! We were able to get in some photos in the amphitheater at Krannert before the rain rushed us inside. We also tried to hit up another locked building, and ended up our allotted portrait time with a few images in front of the Illini Union, before heading back to the Round Barn Center. I also was able to get them back outside for a few minutes after sunset, and after the rain had stopped.
