Basketball season 2023 | Illinois men's & women's hoops

It’s been an exciting hoops season for both men’s & women’s basketball at the University of Illinois. Both Illini teams have been ranked (and unranked) at different points in the season and are both fun to watch.

I often get asked about my basketball schedule since I’m not on the floor for all games. So basically I work for a third-party website and their budget limits me to 4 games per season. That means I space them out among the 4 main basketball months. I was slated to do the Minnesota game that was postponed to Feb. 20, so I’ll do that one as my final game of the season.

Our family splits season tickets with another family, so we attend about half of the games together, which works out well for my photo schedule.

Also as a family, we have attended about 4-5 women’s games this year. The kids especially love it because we get GREAT seats — like usually first 3 rows. It’s awesome for them to get to sit close and be a bigger part of the action, and also catch a t-shirt or 2 now and then. ;)

After attending a few games and with the women’s success this year, I knew I wanted to photograph a game, so I got a photo pass and chose a game that resulted in a W! It was a fantastic game!
