Hannah + Chris | 88 Broadway Urbana wedding photographer

May 12 was one of those perfect, gorgeous spring days. Hannah + Chris couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day for their wedding, AND they let me do nearly all their portrait and group photos outside! They are such an easygoing couple and it was a cinch to get photos of them smiling and laughing because it’s just in their nature. Their bridal party consisted of many relatives who are also close friends, which I think makes for a great dynamic within their group. The day went off mostly without a hitch, except for a fainted groomsman during the ceremony. Everyone took it in stride though, and the day continued on smoothly. I have so many favorite candid images to show you below — so let’s get to it!

Lauren + Ryan | St. Matthews wedding ceremony + reception | Champaign

Who says rain on your wedding day is bad luck? I don’t think Lauren and Ryan have anything to worry about, and their wedding day was rainy until about smack dab in the middle of the ceremony. I love that they chose to see each other before the ceremony, especially since there isn’t much time after the ceremony for pictures in the sanctuary at St. Matt’s. We were able to do quite a few group shots before the ceremony, and then during cocktail hour had plenty of time to be creative with the wedding party and the bride + groom. Since their reception was also at St. Matt’s, we took a party bus around campus and got a bunch of fun shots before heading into the reception. Thanks to Lauren + Ryan for putting on a beautiful wedding, and also to my assistant for the day, Darrell, for being a a huge help as my voice-activated light stand.

Ainsley + Tim | St. Matthews Champaign wedding photographer

I had the privilege of second shooting a wedding on Jan. 14 with Nashville photographer Meishach Moore. The wedding and reception were held at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Champaign, and we went to the University of Illinois quad, Smith Hall and the Union for some photos in between the two. Elegant Bridal Expo | Champaign-Urbana wedding photography

I want to give out a big shout-out and hello to all the brides who came out to the Elegant Bridal Expo today! I got to meet many of you, but some I know I didn’t, but I would still love to hear from you if not! I still have some remaining 2012 dates available, and plenty left in 2013. Just shoot me an email or call me anytime (217-737-0971) if you have questions — we’d love to get you into the studio for a consultation too if you want to chat in person.
