Paladin + Samson | Canine pet photography session | Urbana, IL

My past roommate Andrea saw my pet session posts from a couple months ago and jumped at the chance to get some photos of her family’s adorable chocolate lab, Paladin. When I lived with Andrea, Pal was just a young, hyperactive pup but now he’s grown into a somewhat more mellow, beautiful adult dog. They also brought along Samson, who happens to be Paladin’s full brother. He belongs to a family friend of theirs.

Featured on Pretty Fluffy

You know what would be awesome? If winter was over and it would start to get warm around here again! I’m very tired of the single-degree digit days and would much rather have the sweltering heat of Illinois summers. You know where it is summer though? In Australia! And since January 26 is Australia Day, my friend Serena over (down?) at Pretty Fluffy in Sydney did a feature on Australian Shepherds that showcased some of my pet photography. And remember, even though I’m posting this on Jan. 25, it’s already Jan. 26 down under! :)

And since every blog post is better with a photo, here’s another shot from that session (which was actually an engagement session that included Jessica & Dan’s two lovable dogs)!

These two dogs are so gorgeous and posed so well for me that I thought they deserved their own post! Plus, I wouldn’t mind doing a little more pet photography here and there. :) I mean, how can you resist the sweet faces of these two pups, especially with Twiggy’s mismatched beautiful eyes (above)?

Jessica + Dan met me on a windy but not too chilly day in November to squeeze in their engagement photo session before Christmas. They’re getting married in February… just around the corner! I was incredibly excited that they brought along their two best friends–Australian Shepherds Twiggy and Deacon. The dogs were very well behaved considering all that we asked them to do and all the squirrels that were at West Side Park that day! There’s a separate post about these two gorgeous canines coming up next… stay tuned!

Oskee in Illini Land

Finally, after about a year of planning, several revisions, 3 photo shoots, and tons of phone calls and emails, Oskee in Illini Land is in print! This book is definitely a labor of love, especially for Joanne, who gets to take care of this adorable pooch.
