This photo was featured on Meg Thilmony’s News-Gazette blog today! She saw the blog post I linked on Facebook yesterday and asked to use it. It’s a win-win situation for both of us.
Holly Birch Photography online goes mobile!
June 9, 2010I’ve adjusted the settings on my site to accommodate mobile devices. If you have the capability, try it out and see what you think! And let me know too… I love comments!
This came about when I purchased my new iMac this week (which I desperately needed to get caught up on some work!) and got a free iPod Touch with it. I love it!
C. Fessler (Richmond Wedding Photographer): Nice looking cake there! My caps were knocked off way too early. Great photographs on your site all around. Thanks for sharing.
Professional Photographers of America | Official Member
April 7, 2010Hello blog readers!
As of March 26, I am officially a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA)! This is a very exciting step for me, and is probably much too late in happening. There are many membership benefits that I plan to take advantage of immediately, including Professional Photographer magazine, credit card processing, equipment and software discounts, insurance discounts, and much, much more.
2010 booked!
February 10, 20102010 is now officially all booked with huge THANKS to all my wonderful couples! I look forward to photographing your weddings this year! And you helped me meet one of my first goals for this year, which is fantastic.
Booking is definitely open for 2011 (and 2012 if you’re so inclined!). I’m still getting a lot of inquiries for summer 2010 weddings so I’m pinning this to the top for a while so this is visible first on the site. Remember, you can always see my calendar on my “Contact” page.
Stacey: That's awesome!!! Congratulations!
Announcement: New office software
January 24, 2010To all of my 2010-11 clients:
You may have received an email from me yesterday with incorrect billing information in it. This weekend I set up a new bookkeeping/office management software and it sent out emails before I was ready for it to! Please continue to go by the original paperwork I gave you after you signed the contract. I plan to have all the kinks worked out soon so that this doesn’t happen again!
If you have any questions at all about your payment schedule, your contract, or making payments, please contact me at any time at holly [at] hollybirchphotography [dot] com or 217-737-0971. Thanks so much for bearing with me through this software transition!
2010 is filling up fast | Champaign-Urbana wedding photographer
January 15, 2010I’m getting a lot of calls and emails lately for dates I’m already booked in 2010 (and some dates in 2011 are already gone too!), so I wanted to post my calendar here so you can check this out prior to contacting me. A link to this calendar is also always available on my Contact page.
Allyson: Holy cow - you're not kidding about being booked!! Congrats Holly - that's awesome!
Almost booked for 2009!
September 23, 2009I have very few session spots left for the remainder of 2009, so if you’re really wanting some portraits done before the holidays and before the wintery weather starts, call or email me soon! I only have 1 day left in October and a few days in November.
Also, due to my wedding and football schedule I have NO Saturdays free until December. Thanks so much to all the great clients I have worked with so far this year–I truly appreciate your business! Book early for 2010 if you’re interested in spring/summer portraits!
Out of the Office
August 11, 2009I will be out of the office from today through Friday. I will still have access to email and my phone, so contact me as usual. If I don’t get back to you during the week, please know that I will return all phone calls and emails by Sunday, the 16th. Thanks!!
First attempt at using textures
June 17, 2009At the wedding I shot this past Saturday, I spotted some moss growing on a concrete wall out at Allerton. I snapped a couple shots of it in between family portraits, because as soon as I saw it, I thought it would make a perfect texture. Last night I quickly found a photo that would work with it, and I played around with it for just a short time and came up with the following picture. I know it could use some more editing, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Oh, and blow the photo, you can see the original mossy image sans watermark, and then following that, a link to download the full photo for anyone to use and enjoy!

The original Beware, it’s HUGE.
(I’m not sure that link will let you download it, so if it doesn’t work, please email me and I’ll send it to you.)
