I just finished up Adrienne + Kevin’s wedding album proofs, and I thought I’d post some page samples for my blog readers. I really love the way the images from this nighttime winter wedding turned out, and I’m even happier to add their album as a sample to my collection for wedding consultations. Adrienne + Kevin’s album will be a 12×12″ 24-page album with a black cover (though they’re considering match their wedding colors of navy and champagne) and a square metal cameo on the front. It’s going to be gorgeous!

I squealed with delight when I got the email notification from Forbeyon that my sample album was on its way! I tracked it at least twice a day then until it arrived. I was on my way to the studio and nearly running late, but I swung by my house to pick it up so I’d have it to show at a wedding consultation that very day. I was literally picking up the packing peanuts when my new client walked in the door! And here are some images of it in all its gloriousness! I know there are a couple people anxious to see these.

I cannot stand snakes, but I just want to hug this album all the time because it is so, so beautiful.

This is a 10×10″ album with 24 pages. Additional pages are always an option!

I often get asked about the center of my albums because people worry about gaps (gutters) or splits on people’s faces or other important elements. I’m happy to say that my albums have NO gap, but I always try to avoid putting faces smack dab in the center of the page. As you can see below, there is only a small crease because the album is made to lay flat.

She’s my cherry pie | Forbeyon linear bound album

I am IN LOVE with this new sample album I received from Forbeyon yesterday. This album was necessary for a few different reasons: 1) I was drooling over the new 2010 eco materials Forbeyon recently released, 2) I needed a sample boudoir album, and 3) I wanted to try one of their non-flushmount products–the linear-bound book. I could not be happier with this book, and I hope that with this sample and my cover swatches, that maybe I’ll get some more album cover orders (my current packages include only the classic black cover with square metal cameo).

And of course, as I was taking photos of this delightful little book, the idea popped into my head to do a short stylized shoot. Luckily I also have a RED kitchen full of red utensils.

The photos definitely do not do it justice. You need to see it in person.

Actually, I was a bit surprised (pleasantly!) by the pages. I was expecting the linear-bound pages to be much more flimsy than the flushmount pages, but they are still very sturdy and shiny.

What’s in the pretty blue box, you say? I’m glad you asked! Just this week I got in my brand-spankin’-new album cover swatches from Forbeyon. They are 3×3″ pieces of the actual material that can be used on any of my flushmount wedding albums. They have some fun names like Cherry Pie and Boa and Cinnamon Weave. There are 42 to choose from and you really should see and feel them in person!

Although this album isn’t technically “new” anymore since I received it in December, it’s new to most of my clients and my blog readers! I like taking my product pictures outside when the weather is nice, and well, the weather just isn’t nice in December. So this week I finally knocked this off my to-do list as I’m waiting around for Baby Smitty to arrive. This album is from Mindi + Marty’s wedding I did last July, and it’s an upgrade from my standard 12×12″, 24-page album included with my wedding package #1. This album has a specialty cover that Mindi and I designed together, and also 6 extra pages. I was so happy with how the cover turned out! For any of my future clients, I strongly suggest coming by to seeing one of these albums and actually holding it in your hands if you are at all interested in having a wedding album. You will love it! It is heavy, sturdy, and comes with a lifetime warranty from defects. My albums have all been handled a ton and they are still in GREAT shape!

I personally do all the design work for the pages (at least for the time being). I put the pages online for you to review, and you get 3 revision rounds to make any corrections or changes you want. After that, you can make additional changes, but they are billed hourly. Most times, there are just a few minor changes.

The pages are actual photographs mounted on sturdy board pages (I often compare the thickness of the pages to a children’s board book). Since they are actual photographs, they are subject to fingerprints, but they can be gently wiped away with a soft cloth. Your album will come with care instructions too!

I keep the text to a very bare minimum with just the couple’s first names and wedding date on the very first page, and “Mr. & Mrs. so-and-so” on the very last page.

My copy has this “Studio Sample” stamp on the inside back cover, but your copy will have my logo stamped in silver foil.

Forbeyon Wedding Album

My wedding consultations will now have a new twist as I have the new 12×12″ 24-page size album to show! This is the size album that is included with Package #1 for both 2009 and 2010 (except the cover will be black with the option to upgrade). It is beautiful, large and gorgeous! You really have to hold it in your hands to see how awesome the craftsmanship is. Forbeyon is so awesome and I wouldn’t use any other album company!! Also, the photographs in this particular album (from our Mr. & Mrs. Session back in May) were taken by the lovely Val at VWC Photography. The design was done by me both from scratch and with the help of some templates from Tofurious. It’s hard to tell from the photo, but the cover image is printed on metal.

I don’t think I could love it more. It turned out exactly as I had hoped. I can’t wait for my 2009 brides to get their hands on their albums too!!
