Lydia + Justin | Champaign + Mahomet engagement photography

I met Lydia + Justin in downtown Champaign for urban images with various alleys, doorways, and walls. We just kind of wandered around and stopped when we saw something we liked, including a dumpster-filled alley that Lydia scouted out. It didn’t smell the greatest, but the light was amazing, and you’d never know the difference in the photos! We finished up the engagement session at Lake of the Woods in Mahomet as the sun was going down. Here’s fair warning that there are a lot of favorites from this session! I am very excited to photograph their wedding in September 2012!

Please leave a comment below, and after 25 comments, Lydia + Justin will receive a complimentary 5×7″ mounted print!

Meet Winnie! She is Lydia + Justin’s adorable puppy. (Special thanks to Will for coming along as puppy “trainer”) :)

Family pic!

An old classic. :)

Lydia is not crazy about the red covered bridge, even though she likes the bridge itself. For that reason, most of these next few photos were processed in black-and-white. Though, I did leave a couple just to show the difference!

Two versions of this one:

I took the opportunity to experiment with my lighting a little bit.

This idea is so cute, that I have to share a little bit about it. Lydia + Justin call themselves each other’s puzzle pieces. So Lydia brought along some puzzle pieces to incorporate into the session. As soon as she told me, my mind was buzzing with ideas!

They made for a great detail bling shot!

At the end they both wanted to wade into the water a bit. Yes, please!

I am so glad I snuck (sneaked?) this one in at the end. I love it!!

Thanks, guys, for a great session! I know Lydia is stalking my blog waiting for these, so I’ve been hustling! :)

Sarah + Austin | Kennedy’s at Stone Creek Urbana wedding photography

Sarah + Austin had a beautiful, sunny (and hot!) day for the first day of their lives together. We started out the day at the church where we had a nice leisurely time getting some candids of both the guys and the girls getting ready, some formal portraits, and some more relaxed portraits of both the bride and groom. It was my first time photographing a wedding at Grace Church in Mahomet, and I loved the black curtain behind the stage. It gave a fantastic look to the ceremony photos. After the ceremony, we were off to the Stone Creek golf course for some wedding party portraits during cocktail hour. Sarah + Austin were so easy to photograph and we got a ton of beautiful pictures that I’m so excited to share with my blog readers!

Leave a comment below this post, and after 50 comments, Sarah + Austin will receive a complimentary 16×20″ mounted print.

If you’ve been reading my blog for very long, you KNOW I love this shot!! :)

This one is my favorite! Thanks to my assistant for the day, Darrell, for helping me out with the lighting for this beauty!

Here are Sarah’s grandparents who won the Anniversary Dance. Aren’t they cute??
