Spring portrait sale | Champaign-Urbana portrait photographer

Since I got spring fever last week while the weather was nice and now it’s chilly again, I’m itching to get out and shoot some images as soon as the weather warms up again. So, if you book a session between now and April 8, you will get $25 off the session fee! The session must take place before May 17. I have limited availability in the summer months due to my wedding schedule, so April and May are the best times to fit in a session! The weather will be nice, the sun will be shining, and the grass will be green! What more could you ask for?

To lock in the $25 off special, just shoot me an email at holly [at] hollybirchphotography [dot] com or call 217-737-0971 and I will get you a contract. $100 of the balance is due to hold the date. The remainder is due at the session.

Thanks! And I look forward to photographing some past and new clients!

Photobooth | Illinois wedding photographer

At Ann+Matt’s wedding, I decided to try my first Photobooth. I went to Dallas & Co. in Champaign and picked up several props and tried to stick with their wedding colors of blue, silver & a little bit of green. It took a few minutes for people to come over to the station, but once they did, the stream of people was pretty steady until we shut it down toward the end of the night. We got some real doozies and I know Ann was anxious to see the one above that we’d warned her about, but hadn’t shown her! Photobooths are really fun, so let me know if you’re thinking of adding one to your wedding package!

Yours truly:

So much fun!

Taste of the Town | Champaign Fire & Police Memorial Benefit

Here are a few photos of my booth from the Taste of the Town that was held at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, March 5. We met new people and old friends, tried several types of tasty food, and had a great response to our booth (and our floral decorations). We were glad to have been a part of it. Thanks to my sister Stephanie and my husband Aaron for helping out at the booth and bringing me back goodies from the various food vendors.

See what I mean about the flowers? They were gorgeous. Thanks so much to Fleurish (my downstairs studio neighbor!) for creating it for me!

My brand-spanking new guestbook sample. It arrived in the mail that very day!

I also had just picked up a bunch of the “I Do” magazines from the News-Gazette the day before the event.

My new metallic print standout mount. These prints are going to be hot! They have an inch-deep foam block on the back so they “standout” from the wall. You need to see this in person!

The 4′x6′ print made another appearance too!

It started to snow while we were inside, and it was cool to see the field go from clear to dusted, to completely white by the time we left.

Ann + Matt | Edwardsville, IL wedding | LeClaire Room

Ann+Matt were married at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville, IL, followed by their reception at the LeClaire Room in Edwardsville on the campus of Lewis & Clark Community College. Their wedding was a beautiful event complete with a sparkler exit, a fantastic dinner catered by Bella Milano, a photobooth and a wonderful couple! You may remember Ann+Matt’s engagement session from a few weeks ago where I mentioned that Ann is one of my good friends since junior high, so it was fun catching up with some old friends, including Ann’s parents, at this wedding. We were somewhat limited in our daylight time, so we made the most of the darkness after both the ceremony and reception. Here are some of my favorites!

Also, you’ll notice the new “Facebook comments” section at the bottom of each blog post. If Ann + Matt can get 50 comments by March 31, I will gift them with a free 16×20″ mounted print of their choice. So help them out by leaving a comment!

One of the best first kisses I’ve ever photographed? I think so!

Their matching “suite” that I created–guestbook, invitations & program. They all turned out wonderfully!

Matt: “Is this what Holly wants us to do with the sparklers?”

“Thank You/I’m his Mrs./I’m her Mr.” signs from Etsy!

I’ve said before that one of the best parts of being a wedding photographer is the cake. Theirs did not disappoint!

I love this one of Ann dancing with her dad, whom we affectionately referred to as “GC” all through high school.

I was going to save the Photobooth shots for an entirely different post, but this one was too good to pass up! This is Matt with his buddies from work and he was not warned that they were about to pick him up. :)

This was my first attempt at spelling words with sparklers. Now that I’ve done it though, I learned a few lessons for next time. Can’t wait to try it again! Who’s up for it? :)
