My mom Paula and Joe were married in Joe’s (now their!) backyard on August 22. The weather was beautiful and not too hot at all. I was the matron of honor and photographer, so that was a little tricky! I didn’t get the ceremony shots I wanted, but I think overall it turned out ok.

She decided to wear purple this go-round.

And she made the flowers herself!

Meet Jeanne and Taz! And now you’ll have to wait about 2 months until their bouncing baby girl arrives! She will be making an appearance on the blog then too. I can’t wait! I had a great time hanging out with Jeanne, Taz and Jeanne’s mom Sharon at the Arboretum and the Japan House off Lincoln Ave. in Urbana. Taz left today (Sunday) for his job with the U.S. Navy and will be flown back by the Red Cross when Jeanne goes into labor. That is crazy to me, but awesome that the military and Red Cross do that for their families. Enjoy the rest of my favorites from this session!

Jeanne has one of the cutest pregnant bellies I have ever seen. We did photos of both sides, but the one with the tattoo turned out to be my favorite.

When I was recently in New Orleans for the wedding photography workshop I attended, we had the chance to go out twice for some night time shooting. This was mostly because, of course, it was blazing hot there during the day! Here are a few images from the second session we did with fellow photographer LynetteJ posing as our bride. She made one hot smokin’ bride in my opinion!

Here’s a sneak peek of yesterday’s maternity session. I can’t wait to meet baby girl in November!!

First off, I just have to say that I love my wedding couples. Being a wedding photographer is one of the greatest jobs in the world anyway, but having fabulous couples just make it all the better.

Erin & Brian were married on August 8, 2009 at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Champaign. The reception was held at the always fabulous Hilton Garden Inn. The staff there does a great job with every event I’ve seen there so far. Can’t wait to participate in wedding expos there this fall!

As I’ve said before, I am LOVING the father-daughter dances this year. But I think it’s due to my whole new take on reception lighting. This one is definitely one of my favorites:

I had a great spot for the ceremony, and the priest didn’t want us to move around much, so I stayed up front in a pew and my assistant for the day, Sarah, stayed in the back:

We found some gorgeous light at the University of Illinois Arboretum following Erin + Brian’s wedding ceremony yesterday. I can’t wait to edit the rest of these this week while I’m traveling to and in New Orleans (more on that later!)!
