We had a BUSY weekend, and fun for the most part even though it rained pretty much all day Monday. Saturday evening, the tables were turned and Aaron and I posed for VWC Photography for a Mr. & Mrs. session. We spent some time at a mural near downtown, Memorial Stadium (where we got kicked out… oops!), outside of Assembly Hall and finally at the Hallene Gateway & fountain. Oh man, we took so many cool shots, and even came up with a bunch of stuff I hadn’t even pictured, so I am so anxious to see the photos! I now know how many of my clients feel as they wait for their photos from me!

Sunday morning, we got up and drove to Springfield to do an afternoon engagement session with my mom, Paula, and her fiance, Joe. We started out at Joe’s house and then dodged the rain at Washington Park. The photos following those are of Joe’s daughter, Izzy, and my nephew Nevan.

I love baby feet. There I said it. So you’ll notice lots of feet pictures of the two newborns I’ve photographed this month. Are you serious?! This might be one of the most romantic photos I’ve ever taken at an engagement session. Jess & Steve were so great to work with and so cooperative and willing to do anything I asked. They even followed me on a couple wrong turns as I looked for a yellow field I had seen from the interstate. The only crappy thing now is that I have to wait until October for their wedding! Now without further ado, here are the images from Lake of the Woods in Mahomet, a yellow field along Route 150 and Cakes on Walnut.

Here’s baby Max’s birth announcement. I ended up removing the diaper line from his cute little bottom too.
Here’s big sister holding her new little brother. She wasn’t sure at first what to do with her hands, but she did a great job! We got some great facial expressions out of her too.

Big sister is a beautiful young lady herself, so precious little Max is in good company. Look at those big brown eyes and long lashes!

Favorite!!! I’m ordering this one for myself it at least an 8×10. And I’m thinking about getting a canvas of it. My tiny little 10×10′ office is going to be wall-to-wall canvases if I don’t stop this addiction!

Print prices will stay the same for the time being, but wedding packages will be adjusted slightly. I’m also going to go back down to 3 packages instead of 5. So those of you who have outstanding contracts for 2009 weddings that I haven’t yet received, please get those to me ASAP so you can lock in the current prices. After May 31, you’ll be bumped to the new price list! This also goes for any weddings that will take place in 2010.

And since I’m trying to do better about putting photos into every post, here’s one of my nephew Nevan sort of getting his face painted a couple weeks ago at the Boneyard Arts Festival. He wanted to touch whatever cold, wet thing was being brushed on his face!

Hi blog followers!

I was playing around with my new camera and my 50mm 1.4 lens the other day and took some pretty photos of my dress that I want to have saved before I get it even dirtier than it already is in a couple weeks. I love love love my dress, and think it fit me and my personality perfectly. The lines and the fabric and the color were all spot on.

I also want to show some of my upcoming brides a few samples of a dress not on a bride. I haven’t had many chances to shoot the dress before the bride gets into it as I haven’t done any all day weddings. This year though, I have several of those and I’m looking very forward to capturing the details and the wedding party prior to and during their preparation time. It will be very fun!

(Please ignore the wrinkles! I didn’t let it hang very well after our wedding!)

And lastly, my “happy accident” while testing my flash equipment yesterday. I think the lens flare is so pretty here.
