I did a shoot of these brothers the week before Christmas, and finally got to use the new UI Business building as a location. This place is super sweet for portraits when it’s nasty outside because one wall is 3 complete stories of windows. A photographer’s dream!!

Jody works at the new Institute of Genomic Biology on the UI campus. I like the way this woman thinks! She contacted me about getting her headshot done before the end of the year because she likes the way her hair is right now. 
Her husband Brian also works there, and he jogged over from Mumford Hall to meet us as well.
I received 10 comments from blog readers and passersby during the “Cans for Comments” campaign. It doesn’t seem like a lot, but I think that’s more comments than I’ve had during my entire blog tenure, so it’s a step in the right direction! I will be making the contribution sometime before the end of 2008.
Now, here are some shots of my Christmas cookie-making production this past Saturday. Aaron’s mom is in love with these cookies and has already requested them for her birthday in March. She mentioned in her voicemail that I can make them in shamrock shapes and lucky for her, I have a shamrock cookie cutter already!!

For now, I’m announcing CANS FOR COMMENTS! For every comment I get on my blog between NOW and next Monday, December 15, I will donate one non-perishable food item to a local food pantry. To answer a few questions that I know will be floating around about my engagement:
1) My friend Rob at Still Life Photography
is going to be my reception photographer, but we’re eloping, so I’m going to have a couple other friends help out with various other events. We’ll have someone on hand to get a few images at the courthouse and then once the weather turns nicer again in the spring, we’re going to put our wedding outfits back on and get some fabulous outdoor shots. It’s is the only way to go from a photographer’s standpoint!!

This was a very fun wedding with an enthusiastic wedding party. Kristin was so funny because she kept apologizing for her family and friends because she thought they were getting out of hand or taking too long. I thought she was crazy because things seemed to go very smoothly all day! You might remember Tyler & Kristin’s engagement session from this fall.

They wanted a shot where I was on the ground and shot up at all of them looking at me. Guys, I laid in the middle of a street to do this! Don’t worry though, no photographers were harmed in the making of this image! 
I’m not crazy about the processing on this one (I might change it if they order prints of it), but they both look SO GOOD in this shot that I love it anyway.

They wanted to do the shoot indoors, so after consulting with Allyson about her favorite indoor locations, I decided that we’d go to the Illini Union and Krannert.
